Kenyan Visa fees to remain constant

Kenyan Visa fees for tourists, reduced in 2008 as a temporary measure, will stay permanently at the current lower level it was announced at ITB in Berlin.

The Kenyan Visa fee will remain at the same rate, commencing at £20 or $25 plus any administration fees, whether the visa is obtained from a Kenyan Embassy or High Commission or issued on arrival in Kenya.

Permanent secretary of the Kenya tourism ministry Eunice Miima, also confirmed that discussions were taking place with regard to the introduction of a unified visa for countries within the East African Economic Zone, namely Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda and Burundi.
 
She said she expects agreement on a system for issuing this new unified visa by July this year.
