Extending an HSMP Visa

Whereas previously, HSMP holders simply needed to show that they had attempted to be economically active, recent changes have meant that HSMP holders who wish to apply to stay for a further 3 years int he UK, must now meet a secondary points test in order to be granted that extension.

Please note: All skilled workers from India must now apply for skilled migration through Tier 1 General Skilled Migration.

The HSMP extension visa requires applicants to score a minimum of 75 points on the Points Test. The Points Test awards points for:

Applicants whose original HSMP was granted for 12 months or more, must show earnings from 12 continuous months in the 15 months immediately prior to application. All figures shown are before tax.
