Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program

The maritime province of Nova Scotia's capital, Halifax, is a popular metropolitan centre in an attractive seaside location. Fishing, mining, forestry and agriculture are the traditional industries in this region. These sectors have recently been joined by technology and tourism as key industries in Nova Scotia.

 The Provincial Nominee Program allows provincial governments to choose immigrants according to the economic needs of the province.

Each province:

• Establishes its own standards and processes by which it chooses its nominees; and
• Tries to nominate those candidates who would be most likely to settle effectively into the economic and social life of the region.

The Provincial Nominee Program is not points tested.

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program offers opportunities to Skilled Workers, and under the Economic Stream offers nominee's a 6-month work experience contract with a Nova Scotia employer.
