The Canadian Skilled Worker Visa program is designed to attract independent immigrants to Canada who can make an immediate contribution to the Canadian economy. The system is designed to favour applicants with flexible and highly employable skills and work experience.
The Skilled Worker Visa uses a points test to determine if applicants qualify. Applicants are ranked on a variety of factors including education and work experience. The current pass mark for the Skilled Worker is 67 points.
In addition to the points test, all applicants must meet a few basic requirements in order to qualify.
With an occupation listed on the Priority Occupation List, you will be eligible for skilled migration to Canada without the requirement of having a job offer from a Canadian employer and will have the potential to arrive within months of beginning the application process. However, you will still need to pass the Canadian skilled migration points test.
