Australian High Commission announces scholarship programme for Pakistan

The Australian High Commissioner in Pakistan, Timothy George, launched a redesigned AusAID student scholarship programme, late last week.

The Australian High Commission has launched the new AusAID scholarship programme to help Pakistani students, particularly in child health studies.

The scholarship programme, redesigned in consultation with the Pakistani government, will seek to aid with Pakistan’s development priorities, according to the Australian High Commission.

Some 500 scholarships to study in Australia will be awarded to Pakistani students, particularly in subjects of maternal, neonatal and child health, basic education, rural development, food security and governance.

The scholarship programme also has a revised selection process includes specific measures to ensure gender equality and accessibility to scholarships for disabled people.

 “These scholarships will continue to provide Pakistani professionals with the tools to drive change and influence development outcomes in Pakistan and strengthen bilateral relations,” Mr George said.


The Australian Visa Bureau is an independent consulting company specialising in helping people lodge their Australian visa with the Australian Immigration department.
