Australia’s sunshine state launches hit tourism campaign on YouTube

The northern state of Queensland has launched a new tourism brand that has already generated publicity worth more than $3.7 million, the state’s Premier Anna Bligh says.

A new international campaign will focus on social media to promote tourism to Queensland.

Last year, Tourism Queensland unveiled the state’s first international tourism brand “Queensland, Where Australia Shines” that will be rolled out in key international markets to encourage travel and tourism to the state.

All visitors to Australia, unless they have an Australian or New Zealand passport, must have an Australian Tourist Visa. The most popular of these is the ETA Visa because it can be applied for online and is almost instantly approved.

The campaign will have a heavy focus on social media platforms, and already a new YouTube video promoting the brand has generated massive interest with more than 12,600 views so far.

"Already the launch of the brand has recorded more than $3.7 million in publicity value for Queensland," Ms Bligh told parliament on Tuesday.
