Latest Australian visa holders welcomed to the country

The latest Australian visa holders to enter the country were welcomed in by a number of the country's dignitaries. Former Australian of the year Dr Fiona Wood, and mayor of the Shire of Albany Milton Evans, were both on hand to welcome Australia's latest additions.

Doug Kemp, Sara Lembo and baby Lilly, who is just 11 months old, are just some of the Australian visa holders welcomed into the Australian community. Dr Wood said: "Australia is a place where you can bring skills with you without having to relinquish where you come from."

She added that the country has given her "support and many opportunities", saying not many places in the world compare and it is "a special place". The lucky new Australian visa holders received a message of congratulations and a welcome gift pack from the Immigration and Citizenship Minister Senator Evans.

Figures released from the Government this week show that many more Australians are returning home from the UK to enjoy the Australian lifestyle again. Quickly catching on to the trend, an increasing number of Australian visa holders are British people migrating to Australia for the lifestyle and employment opportunities.

Australia needs skilled workers: Anyone applying for an Australian visa should begin by completing the Australian Visa Bureau's online Australian visa application to see if they meet the Australian visa requirements.
