Government funding to aid Canada immigration announced

The government of Canada has announced it is making funding available to help aid the integration of newcomers to the city of Saskatoon. In total, $74,000 will be handed out to various projects which aim to help the settlement of new Canadian immigration arrivals into the community. The money will also go towards helping new Canadian visa holders find jobs in the city.

Ed Komarnicki, parliament secretary, said: "The Government of Canada is committed to helping newcomers succeed in Canada. This funding will help make Saskatoon a destination of choice by supporting the city's efforts to create a more welcoming community." The funding is part of a plan borne from the ideas raised in a report called "Building Saskatoon to become a global city: A framework for an immigration plan". Saskatoon is located in central Saskatchewan and is often referred to as the "City of Bridges" due to its many river crossings.

Canada welcomes new immigrants: The Canadian Visa Bureau can assist skilled workers interested in Canadian immigration. More information on Canadian visas is available on the website. Anyone applying for a Canadian visa should begin by completing the online Canadian visa application to see if they meet the legislative requirements.
