Critical demand for IT professionals leads to Canadian visa opportunities

A technology staffing firm in Canada has said that the demand for IT professionals in the country is higher than it has been in its 26-year history. In 2007 the demand for IT workers on a local level increases by at least 18 per cent according to Sapphire Technologies Canada. This may result in an increase of Canada immigration in order to fill the positions.

Terry Power, president of Sapphire Technologies Canada, said: "We expect this growth to continue in the foreseeable future." Contract positions that are available in the country increased by 16 per cent, while full-time positions rose by 21 per cent. Mr Power also said that the IT industry played a crucial role in the Canadian economy so it is vital that these jobs are filled, be it through Canada immigration or other sources of skilled workers. Statistics Canada recently revealed that the unemployment rate in Canada is at a 33-year-low of 5.8 per cent. Sapphire Technologies Canada has been established since 1981 and provides IT staffing services to organisations.

Canada welcomes new immigrants: The Canadian Visa Bureau can assist skilled workers interested in Canadian immigration. More information on Canadian visas is available on the website. Anyone applying for a Canadian visa should begin by completing the online Canadian visa application to see if they meet the legislative requirements.
