British High Commissioner to India to visit Patna

The British high commissioner to India, Richard Stagg, will reach Patna today as part of a two-day visit to the state to review development projects.

UK government's Department For International Development (DFID) acting head Chris Chalmers and first secretary in the British High Commission in India, Priya Guha, will  accompany Stagg as he reviews the progress of various DFID-funded projects in Bihar.

Major DFID-funded projects include improving infrastructure in 28 urban centres in the state and urban projects to deliver civic services.

 Stagg is also expected to meet chief minister Nitish Kumar, deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi and chief secretary Anup Mukherjee, where topics of discussions will include economic issues and means of expediting development projects depending on priority.
