Officers from the UK Border Agency’s UK immigration crime team detained the pair, 32 and 33, suspected of money laundering and assisting unlawful immigration, after storming two homes and a business premises.

The arrests are part of an investigation into UK visa applications to the Home Office made through a Harrow-based immigration advice service.

Documentary evidence and computer equipment were seized alongside the cash.

Detective Inspector Robert Coxhead said: “The UK Border Agency and Metropolitan Police will continue to work in partnership to identify and disrupt criminal networks involved in and benefiting from immigration crime.”
