New Zealand popular destination for South African medical professionals

Together with Australia, New Zealand has been ranked as the top destination for South African Medical professionals who plan to leave the country to find work. The survey by the South African Migration Project (SAMP) found that 77 per cent of health professionals are considering New Zealand immigration.

Many of these workers of reportedly unhappy with their government department and could consider seeking a New Zealand working holiday visa as a means to do their job abroad, Independent Online reports.

The report from SAMP said: "Emigration is set to continue and even accelerate. There can be few professions where practitioners are as unhappy with their government department. The level of dissatisfaction is such that it may seem difficult for government to know where to begin."

Earlier this month, figures from Statistics New Zealand revealed that more UK nationals have moved to New Zealand than any other country. Meanwhile the number of people moving away from New Zealand last year increased by 7,000.

New Zealand needs skilled workers: Anyone applying for a New Zealand visa should begin by taking the New Zealand Visa Bureau's online New Zealand visa assessment to see if they meet the basic legislative requirements.
