New Zealand signs working holiday agreement with Israel

Israel and New Zealand have reached a reciprocal arrangement on working holiday visa options for young people.

New Zealand Working Holiday

New Zealand has signed an agreement that will allow Israelis aged between 18 and 30 to take a New Zealand working holiday.

The New Zealand Foreign Minister Murray McCully signed the agreement in Jerusalem recently, opening the way for up to 200 Israelis aged between 18 and 30 to take a working holiday to New Zealand.

Up to 200 New Zealanders will also be able to travel to Israel for a working holiday.

It is hoped that the working holiday arrangement will help deepen tourism and education links between the two countries, and in time lead to better trade and investment links.

"Israel is already our largest tourist market in the Middle East, and it is an affluent economy that will present opportunities for New Zealand," Mr McCully said.

The New Zealand Working Holiday Visa allows young people aged between 18 and 30 the opportunity to live and travel in New Zealand, and undertake employment during their stay.
