Update on WA State Sponsorship (WASMOL) - New Applications Being Accepted

Since closing their state sponsorship earlier this month, Migration WA have now released an interim list of occupations they will consider for sponsorship. The Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) is currently open to a select number of occupations, and will close again for review in late May 2017.

To check if your occupation is on the interim list for WA visit the WA skilled migration occupation list (WASMOL) page.

The WASMOL has now been simplified into one list of occupations in short supply within the state. All occupations currently listed are in the medical industry and changes to the availability of occupations can occur at any given time without warning.

The WA State Government will be consulting with local industry to create a new WASMOL once the list is closed for review in May 2017.

Applications received before the suspension on 13 March 2017 will be processed in accordance to the criteria at time of applying.

In regards to WA Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) nominations, new applications for RSMS nominations are being accepted for the following regions only:

New applications for RSMS remain closed for the Perth region.

All applications (including the Perth region) received prior to the suspension of the program on 13 March 2017 will be processed according to the RSMS guidelines in place at the time of application.

Further information will be posted on the WA Migration Portal as it becomes available.
