News this month indicates a strengthening job market in Australia, with job adverts increasing and the unemployment rate falling.

Popular job site SEEK released figures which shows job adverts are up by 6.6% in the past year, with every Australian state and territory recording growth. Particular job growth was reported in Western Australia, partially as result of the mining industry actively hiring again. Job adverts across the mining sector grew 60% over the past 12 months in WA.

Since February 2000, job growth has been primarily generated from the following industries:

We spoke to job specialist Diane Boyce at Hays Recruitment who commented: "This rising demand and confidence in the job market has led to an increasing interest in UK and Irish migrants. In our experience, employers are more willing to conduct Skype interviews for overseas applicants. The strong Australian job market is hugely encouraging for those looking to make the move."
