US Visa information session to be held in Mumbai
Officials from US consulate general in Mumbai will host a public information session on the US immigrant visa application process tomorrow.
US consulate general for Mumbai, Cathleen Carothers, said most of the applicants for US visas are from Gujarat and the consulate wants to help applicants and people who may be interested in immigrating to the US understand our laws and the application process.
"US immigration policy allows qualified individuals and families to immigrate to US but sometimes people get bad guidance or submit fraudulent information in order to get a visa. We want to make clear that committing fraud is always the wrong decision for potential applicants," she said.
The US Visa presentation will include information on who is eligible to immigrate to US and how to apply for an immigrant visa according to US regulations and consulate procedures.
The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
The information session will be held at the Federation of Gujarat Industries business centre on Gotri-Sevasi road.
The American Visa Bureau is an independent consulting company specialising in helping people make US Visa applications to the US Embassy.
