Auckland Hiring IT is a pilot programme, which is likely to lead to further ICT skills development projects. The pilot is focusing on international university graduates, working holidaymakers, tourists, temporary visa holders and skilled workers who may not currently be working in their field of qualification.

It is organised by the New Zealand Department of Labour and the ICT skills development organisation Accelerating Auckland, with the support of Tourism Auckland.

The Department of Immigration's Immediate Skill Shortage List covers many skills in demand including computer programmers, analysts, engineers, administrators, web designers and developers, IT managers and IT consultants.

New Zealand needs ICT workers: anyone interested in New Zealand immigration should complete the New Zealand Visa Bureau's online New Zealand visa assessment to see if they qualify for a New Zealand visa.
