The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) have closed their skilled nomination program to overseas applicants

Effective immediately, applications for ACT state sponsorship from overseas residents will be not be accepted until the new program opens on 1 July 2016

This only affects people applying to the ACT for state sponsorship. Currently, all other state nomination lists remain unchanged.

How does this impact you?

The Skilled Nominated 190 visa is a points-based visa which allows skilled workers to apply to a state or territory for sponsorship. The ACT is a state in Australia which offers sponsorship to certain occupations.

If you have applied to the ACT prior the 18th March 4pm AEST time, then your application will be processed in queue order. The current processing time is 3-4 months.

If you have missed this deadline then you will not be able to apply for state sponsorship with the ACT until 1 July 2016.
