Immigration officers continuing their information tour around Australia

Officers from the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) are continuing to travel to regional parts of Australia in an attempt to provide “face-to-face” information for immigrants, local businesses, industries and local families. The officers will hold the information days in Broken Hill on June 24 and 25.

The Department recently sent officers to Kalgoorlie, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun and Esperance in Western Australia.  The seminars were very successful in meeting the needs of immigration advice in these regions of Australia, and will continue to Broken Hill in South Australia next week.

Officers will be available to process visa and citizenship applications onsite, as well as conduct citizenship testing.

The immigration seminars are coinciding with campaigns from the government to encourage skilled workers and other foreign workers to fill the labour shortage in Australia.

Australia needs skilled workers: anyone interested in migrating to Australia should complete an online assessment to see if they qualify for skilled migration to Australia.
