New Zealand hotspots in top ten of travellers' destinations

Two destinations in New Zealand have been named as some of the best in the world by a travel community. Travellers visiting the country, many of whom will arrive on a New Zealand working holiday have stated that Queenstown and Milford Sound are in the top ten destinations in the world, reports Stuff.com.

The TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards placed the New Zealand destinations above such other notable locations as Rhodes in Greece and Lake Tahoe in California. George Hickton, the chief executive of Tourism New Zealand, told the website the region can offer travellers, who may be on a New Zealand working holiday visa, unique experiences.

"TripAdvisor members are exactly the kind of travellers Tourism New Zealand is targeting in the online space," he said.

Mr Hickton added: "They are well-travelled, like to get off the beaten-track and use websites to plan holidays, and share their experiences and favourite destinations," cincluding his statement by saying that the awards were "a hugh credit" to the country's tourism industry.

New Zealand is one location which has enjoyed a huge boost in visitor figures in recent years, with many arrivals coming for an extended period on a New Zealand working holiday visa. Travellers can use the TripAdvisor website to plan their journeys, run a travel blog, rate hotels and destinations and find travel buddies.

Anyone interested in taking a working holiday to New Zealand should confirm their eligibility by taking the New Zealand Visa Bureau's online New Zealand visa assessment.
