Skilled Migration Update: SkillSelect invitation rounds will now occur monthly

Invitation rounds via SkillSelect will now occur monthly, as per new changes released by the Department of Home Affairs.

The Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) has announced that SkillSelect invitation rounds will occur monthly, effective from 11 August 2018. DOHA has advised that the monthly invitation numbers will be increased accordingly. As a result the overall number of invitations provided each month will remain unchanged.

This change impacts those applying for a Skilled Independent 189 Visa and Skilled Family Sponsored 489 Visa.

When you submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) it will stay in the system for 2 years until one of the following happens:

Your visa is granted; or
Your visa is refused; or
Your visa application is withdrawn; or
You have not actioned two invitations that your EOI has received; or
Your EOI has been cancelled by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.

Submitting an EOI does not guarantee you an invitation to apply for skilled migration.
