New Zealand skilled migrant category selection announced
New Zealand Immigration have announced the most recent selection of Expressions of Interest (EOIs) under the New Zealand Skilled Migrant Category, which took place on Wednesday.
Of the applicants, 550 EOIs representing 1191 people were selected and will now undergo preliminary verification by New Zealand immigration to determine if an invitation to apply for residency will be issued.
The New Zealand Skilled Migrant category offers migrants to chance to live and work in New Zealand permanently.
The breakdown of those selected include:
- 337 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above;
- 127 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand;
- 44 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage;
- 25 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage;
- 17 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 110 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.
