US visitors can register for visa waiver online

The new Visa Waiver Program means people will have to submit their details to the website three days or more before their visit. The new restrictions do not come into place until January next year, but people can register already ahead of their trips next year.

Most applicants will receive a response within the remaining three days before travel, but if refused they will then have to seek a non-immigrant visa. The system began to accept voluntary applicants this month and will enable visitors to the country to be checked by US immigration services before they land. The new rules also mean entrants must have a machine-readable passport fitted with a chip, which were issued after October last year.

Anyone interested in getting a better understanding of their current position under UK visa regulations should request a call from a qualified UK Visa Bureau migration consultant to see if they are eligible for migration to the UK, or call direct on Freephone 0800 043 7011. Alternatively, HSMP visa hopefuls should try taking the HSMP online assessment.
