During the meeting it was announced that 3,000 workers will be needed in the healthcare industry in St Tammany, Louisiana over the next three to four years. The figure, quoted by Jan Roberts of the St Tammany Healthcare Alliance, covers workers from all areas of a hospital, including housekeeping, nurses and technicians.

Also in short supply in the US is IT workers, which is causing a lack of growth in a number of sectors. Andy Kyte, vice president of Gartner Fellow, told TMC.net: "This is a massive and devastating skills shortage, and it is coming when there is a surge in the number of projects that are required from IT." Skilled US immigration is a possibility when considering solutions to this problem.

America needs skilled workers: anyone interested in American immigration should complete the American Visa Bureau's online American visa application to see if they qualify for an American visa.
