Darren Allison, managing director of Clearwater Collection, told the Telegraph and Argus: "We are going from strength to strength and have jobs available for the right people and I'm disappointed that we have not been able to recruit anyone so far." Mr Allison claims that he needs 12 skilled workers to fill positions in his factory. He also said that the company faces a shortage of laminators, mould makers and vacuum formers.

The news follows research from Blueprint for UK Construction Skills, which revealed that in the UK there is a need for 17,000 qualified electricians to enter into the industry by 2011, through UK immigration or other ways.
