New Zealand skilled migrant category selection

Expression of Interest is the second step in the emigration to New Zealand process.  

The following amount of EOIs were selected:

  • 424 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 140 or above;
  • 100 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand.
  • 51 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 15 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
  • 38 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage.
  • 50 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140, and included 10 points for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage.
  • 16 EOIs were selected that had a points total of 125 or more but less than 140. These EOIs did not claim points for offers of skilled employment or current skilled employment in New Zealand, work experience in an area of absolute skill shortage or for a qualification in an area of absolute skill shortage. These EOIs were ranked in descending order of points.

As a result, 679 EOIs representing 1434 people were selected and will now undergo preliminary verification to determine if an invitation to apply for New Zealand residency will be issued.

The selection of Expressions of Interest under the New Zealand Investor (Investor 2 category) also took place this week and five EOIs under the new Migrant Investor Visa policy were selected.
