New Zealand immigration delays skilled migrant category rule changes

However, the changes to the Active Investor Migrant Policy and the temporary entry policy have not been delayed and took effect on November 26th.

The delayed policy changes include amendments to the recognition of qualifications and work experience. Also the definition of "skilled employment" is to be linked to the Long Term Skill Shortage List for a New Zealand visa.

New Zealand immigration says it needs more time to implement the required technical changes to its systems to cope with the new rules. The immigration department said in a statement that it will "try to contact everyone whose application or expression of interest may be directly affected by the deferral".
