New questions for U.S. citizenship test now in effect

- Posted in America by Visa Bureauon 02 October 2008

The test is a necessary process for America visa holders to become naturalised, and all applications for citizenship filed after 01 October 2008 will be subject to the new exam.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) changed the set of questions for the test so that some questions can now have more than one answer.  The test asks basic questions about American democracy, history, and civic life (including geography, symbols, and public holidays).

According to KAPPTV.com, the new test questions with mulptiple answers reflects the government’s policy that they want new American citizens to understand the answers they provide rather than committing single answers to memory.
