NASSCOM expresses support for UK immigration changes

The international global company based in India has 250 member companies around the world, including the UK.  The company has told reporters the new PBS system will make the immigration process for employees more streamlined, efficient, and simplified.

"This is very critical given the UK Home office's announcement on October 1, 2008 being the last date of applications and November 24, 2008 as the date when the new system goes live,” said a statement from NASSCOM.

As part of the new PBS system, employees from outside the European Economic Area who are being transferred within companies to the UK will need to apply for a UK work permit and earn “points” to support their application.  Points can be earned on the basis of ability, age, experience and the level of need within that particular job sector.

The UK Visa Bureau is an independent consulting company specialising in UK visa and immigration services.
