Madonna applies for a UK Visa to make London her home

The 52-year-old singer left London for New York in 2008 after her divorce from Guy Ritchie, but after several years away has decided to move back.

Madonna has had to apply for a  UK Visa to return permanently, as she is not longer a British citizen by virtue of being married to Guy.

Her children – Lourdes, 13, Rocco, ten, and adopted David Banda, five, and Mercy James, four – were all born outside the UK. Rocco, as Guy Richie’s son, is entitled to a British passport.

The other children will automatically be granted UK Visas as Madonna's dependents, provided her application is approved.

Madonna still owns a ten-bedroom house in Marylebone, West London, and the move back to the city could go smoothly as Lourdes and Rocco's  Lycee Francais school in New York has a sister school in Kensington, West London.
