Engineer shortage could encourage UK immigration

Nelson Ogunshakin, ACE chief executive, said: "Immediate action is needed if we are to solve the engineering skills crisis. Our recent investigation shows that there are today 20,000 unfilled vacancies in the consultancy and engineering sector alone. We will be highlighting this and a range of other issues in our response to the committee's inquiry."

A recent report from the Institute for Public Policy Research has revealed that the number of people enjoying the benefits of UK immigration could double in the next 20 years.
