Crusaders sign Australian Hanbury after UK visa finally approved

Hanbury’s signing has been in discussion for some time but it wasn’t until his UK visa was cleared that the signing could be confirmed, an issue that Crusaders had problems with last year.

"I am delighted to finally have Rhys on board," Crusaders coach Brian Noble told the BBC.

"It has taken him a while to get here but he will be a great addition to the squad.

"He is a quality player who can play in a variety of positions and his arrival will create extra competition for places,” Nobel said.

Last year, six of the Crusaders’ players were deported back to Australia after being discovered as working for the club on visas which did not permit them to play professional sport.
