Chinese Visa hurdle for India’s Northeastern states
People in the Northeastern states now have to travel to New Delhi and apply to the Chinese Embassy there for a Chinese Visa.
The move has created a lot of inconvenience for the businessmen from the region, said Federation of Indian Export Organisations Deputy Director General Debdatta Nandwani.
Nandwani raised the matter during a session with a visiting Chinese delegation organised by the Centre for Promotion of India-China Cooperation.
China is India’s largest trading partner. In December last year India and China set a $100 billion trade target by 2015, up from $60 billion in 2010.
