China visa restrictions eased for Macau

Guangdong residents are now allowed to visit Macau once a month, instead of the previous rule restricting visits to only two per year. The quiet relaxing of China visa rules has already boosted Hong Kong casino shares, reports Channel News Asia.

Notable share boosts include Galaxy Entertainment and Melco International, both jumping more than nine per cent.

Reports speculate that China was relaxing the Chinese visa restrictions for Macau ahead of its 60th Anniversary celebrations, although an official announcement has not yet been made by the government.
