British tourists still New Zealand’s biggest fans

Ed Sims, Air New Zealand’s head of international business, told the Dominion Post the higher-value market in Europe such as in Spain and France, combined with the introduction of biofuel for fuelling long-haul flights will make European routes sustainable and cheaper in the long run.

The company hope to secure the Chinese tourism market as a substantial part of its customer base, but also retain the large volume of British custom who holiday in and emigrate to New Zealand.  According to the Dominion Post, 300,000 British tourists fly every year to work, holiday, and permanently emigrate to New Zealand.
