British passport processing moved from Singapore to Hong Kong British High Commission

British nationals in Singapore, an estimated 25,000 Britons, wishing to renew their passport must now send their application to the British High Commission in Hong Kong via courier, a move which will take an extra four days.

A standard British passport with 32 pages currently costs HK$1,536 (S$275) and a Frequent Traveller's Passport with 48 pages costs HK$1,854. Both last 10 years.

The new measures came into effect 22 March and since the change the British Consulate-General in Hong Kong has received 82 applications.
