British Embassy in New Delhi issues warning of possible militant attacks

The British Embassy urged British residents and tourists to be highly vigilant as there are "increased indications" of "terrorist attacks in the capital".

Australia, America and Canada have also issued similar travel warnings, with the American Embassy asking Americans to either to avoid or to be highly alert especially while visiting popular shopping areas which can be easy militant targets.

New Delhi Police spokesperson, Rajan Bhagat, said there are no "specific inputs" to back this warning but security is a prime concern.
Crowded markets, such as those located in Chandni Chowk, Connaught Place, Greater Kailash, Karol Bagh, Mehrauli, and Sarojini Nagar, can be especially attractive targets for terrorist groups and foreigners are advised to avoid these areas, be alert and cautious of their surroundings at all times.
