Border Agency reports on impact of volcanic ash disruption on UK visa services

UK airports have reopened from 22:00, 20 April, but previous flight cancellations have caused delays in couriers transporting passports and UK visa applications to and from processing centres in Europe.

While every effort to minimise delays but it will take time for UK visa operation to return to normal and applicants may still experience delays at the following UK immigration visa processing centres:

  • Warsaw - This is affecting UK visa applications from Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria.
  • Stockholm - This affects UK visa applications from Norway and Helsinki. All UK visa decisions will be delayed by up to one week.
  • UK - This is affecting UK visa applications from Algeria and Pakistani settlement applications only.
  • Istanbul - This is affecting UK visa applications from Tel Aviv.
  • There may also be delays at the UK visa processing centre in Belgrade, which would affect UK visa applications from Montenegro, Croatia and Slovenia.
