Students and younger workers needed for Canada Immigration

Canada immigration needs to focus on attracting foreign students and younger temporary workers, according to a new report. Research by the Universite de Montreal shows that the country should be making it easier for young migrants to enter the country to work.

Universite de Montreal had over 5,000 foreign students enrolled last year and is considered to be one of Canada's most cosmopolitan universities. Their study stated: "There is a serious lack of consistency between the government policy of wanting to attract qualified new immigrants to the labour market, and the reality that confronts those immigrants when employers refuse to recognise their experience and qualifications."

Also found in the report about Canada immigration, was that language skills are the biggest barrier to people who go to Canada for work, providing good news for British workers who are considering moving to Canada with a Canadian Skilled Worker Visa. With Canada one of the countries affected by the global skills crisis, the report comes as a call to action to the government to make it easier for the workers of tomorrow to help fill the skills gaps.

Anyone applying for a Canadian visa should begin by taking Visa Bureau's online assessment to see if they meet the basic legislative requirements.
