Alberta 'to rely on Canada immigration in future'

Alberta will be increasingly relying on Canada immigration in the future, according to a new report. A ten year job forecast from Calgary Economic Development has revealed that a skills shortage in the area would mean a greater need for people to come from abroad through Canada immigration.

"The labour shortage is not an issue that only Calgary, Alberta or [the rest of] Canada is experiencing. Basically every balanced economy is experiencing a labour shortage and we're all competing for that labour," said Adam Legge, chief economist for Calgary Economic Development. According to the research, 244,000 skilled workers in Calgary will be needed over the next decade. There is a large list of jobs which are in demand, and it includes nurses, financial auditors, carpenters and teachers. People who are looking for jobs in Canada in these professions can apply for a Canada skilled worker visa.

Another report on Canada immigration recently revealed that there is an increasing amount of job postings for people with IT skills in the country.

Canada welcomes new immigrants: The Canadian Visa Bureau can assist skilled workers interested in Canadian immigration. More information on Canadian visas is available on the website. Anyone applying for a Canadian visa should begin by completing the online Canadian visa application to see if they meet the legislative requirements.
