Job posting increase reflects need for more Canada immigration
The number of job postings for people with IT qualifications in Canada has increased. The skills shortage in the IT sector has caused an increase in job adverts, and companies are now looking at Canada immigration as a solution.
According to Workopolis, an online job search operator, postings for compute software programmers in Canada increased by 300 per cent in the last year. Patrick Sullivan, president of Workopolis, said: "The majority of people that we've interviewed over the last little while are new Canadians, rather than people who were born in Canada." He also said that part of the problem is that few Canadians are leaving school trained in computer and network programming.
The Conference Board of Canada recently released a report which said that the country will need 90,000 extra IT workers in the next five years. People from the UK would need a Canadian skilled worker visa in order to move to Canada and help out with the shortage.
Canada welcomes new immigrants: The Canadian Visa Bureau can assist skilled workers interested in Canadian immigration. More information on Canadian visas is available on the website. Anyone applying for a Canadian visa should begin by completing the online Canadian visa application to see if they meet the legislative requirements.
