Tourism Australia launches holiday planning mobile app

Tourism Australia has release its first iPhone application, the Oz Planner, to help travellers plan an Australian holiday.

ETA Visa

A new app by Tourism Australia will allow traveller to access information on the go and plan a holiday.

The Oz Planner is the mobile extension of the well-established planning tool the Walkabout Planner and uses mapping technology to provide direct access to tourism product listings such as tour providers, accommodation and car hire.

Travellers can use the OzPlanner iPhone app to access 16 suggested Australian journeys: either navigating through the journeys to see highlights, images and suggested activities, or searching a range of destinations and experiences for trip suggestions.

Tourism Australia Managing Director, Andrew McEvoy, said that the Oz Planner iPhone app was designed to create a portable, engaging, motivational experience about travelling in Australia.

"Users of our new iPhone app will also be able to easily keep detailed holiday plans in their phone, making travel so much easier once they are here plus they will also have access to more than 20,000 tourism products and services throughout Australia,” Mr McEvoy said.

The  app will be released initially in English with other languages to follow.

All international tourists to Australia, unless they have an Australian or New Zealand passport, must obtain an Australian Travel Visa. The most popular of these is the ETA Visa, or Electronic Travel Authority. The ETA can be applied for online and replaces visa labels or stamps, removing the need for application forms.

The Australian Visa Bureau is an independent consulting company specialising in helping people lodge their Australian Immigration applications with the Australian Embassy.
