Non-EU British Passports

Due to the nature of the UK's overseas territories and protectorates, Some British Nationals are not nationals of the European Union.  Generally, these would be holders of the following passport types:

• GBD - British Overseas Territories Citizens
• GBO - British Overseas Citizens
• GBS - British Subjects
• GBP - British Protected Persons 

As a result, holders of the above passport classes will have British Passports that do not entitle them to the same rights as a European Union passport holder.

These British Nationals are issued lookalike passports.

A lookalike passport will not have the words "European Union" on the cover.  They will simply read United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
