UK Work Permits - Tier 2

Tier 2 UK work permits cover any applications that fall outside the Tier 1 groupings.

As advertising the post is required, these are more complicated applications which require the employer to fully justify why any applicants from within the European Economic Area were not selected.

For postions that do not require adveritising, check the Shortage Occupation List.

Furthermore, as with Tier 1 applications, it is vital that the employer can show that the business is genuine and that there is a genuine requirement for the intended role. In addition the proposed employee who is to fill the role must be suitably skilled and/or qualified for it and meet the basic requirements.

Visa Conditions

A successful applicant is given up to 5 years to live and work in the UK for that employer. After being in the UK for that period you may be eligible to apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR), also known as Permanent Residency.
