UK immigration raids find seven illegal workers in Devon and Cornwall
The UK Border Agency has discovered seven illegal workers in businesses in Devon and Cornwall following a series of raids.
UK Border Agency spokeswoman Jane Farleigh described the raids as "notable successes".
"If people want to live or work in the UK, there are ways they can come here legitimately - such as applying through our points-based system for migration," she said.
The UK Border Agency regularly conducts investigations and follows up on information received to maintain the integrity of the system.
The men, from Bangladesh, Turkey, China and Malaysia, were detained by officers last week. Six are now being held in detention and one has been released while officers consider his UK immigration application.
The men were found in restaurants and takeaways in Bude, Camelford, Liskeard, Holsworthy and Plymouth.
