UK visa and immigration tough but fair: Brown
In his first major speech on migration since early last year the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, set out the case for the tough but fair UK visa and UK Work Permit points-based system.
In his speech in west London the Prime Minister also announced a review of UK Tier 4 Student Visas to prevent fraudulent applicants from those who apply for the visa with the intention of working illegally once inside the country.
The Prime Minister also talked about new measures to build on the success of the points-based system, which came into effect last year with new UK Visa and UK Work Permit criteria.
