UK immigration investigation closes Preston brothel
A Preston brothel has been closed down by the UK Border Agency officers as part of an ongoing UK immigration investigation.
The North West immigration crime team, which includes seconded police officers working alongside Border Agency officers, successfully obtained a new brothel closure order for 2 Derby Street, Preston, which was targeted as part of an ongoing UK immigration investigation.
A Chinese woman found at the premises was arrested for UK immigration offences and is currently detained pending her removal.
John Wilkinson, Detective Sergeant, immigration crime team in the North-West, said: “We are proud that we have successfully close this brothel. We will continue to challenge criminal activity associated with immigration crime and seek to prosecute those involved”.
“Results such as the closure of this brothel demonstrate the strength of police officers working alongside the UK Border Agency to tackle immigration related crime that is a scourge on our communities.”
