Results from poll about UK immigration call for balanced migration
Results from a recent survey of UK immigration found that most people want tighter restrictions, reports Three News.
The survey spearheaded by a British parliamentary committee found that most people support a cut-back of immigration; 57 per cent of adults think there should be a greater balance between immigration and emigration, while 28 per cent are in favour of retaining the current flow of people. The survey is in response to an influx of immigrants from Eastern Europe.
The UK is one of the leading immigration destinations in the world. Skilled workers who wish to migrate to the UK can do so under the Tier 1 (General) Skilled Migration program, or apply for a Work Permit to work for a British employer. For Commonwealth nationals, the UK provides extra options to work in the UK, including a UK Working Holiday Visa and Ancestry Visa.
