29 July 2010
The next quota of working holiday places for young citizens of China will open from 10am New Zealand time on 2 August 2010.
New Zealand working holiday places for young Chinese citizens will open next month.
One thousand New Zealand working holiday places are available annually to young citizens of China for a 12-month stay in New Zealand and places under the quota are released in stages to help manage demand.
On 2 August, two hundred and fifty places will become available and Immigration New Zealand expects interest from potential applicants will be much greater than the number of places available.
This can result in the quota being filled within a very short time of it opening, and may mean that many people miss out.
The New Zealand Working Holiday Visa Scheme gives young people aged between 18 and 30 the opportunity to travel to New Zealand and undertake employment during their 12-month stay.
