Bay of Plenty targets New Zealand immigration

New Zealand's beautiful Bay of Plenty is targeting skilled workers in the UK for New Zealand immigration. Opportunities New Zealand Expos are being held in the UK this month and representatives of a regional development agency are conducting seminars.

Andrew Coker, the acting chief executive of the agency has said a skill shortage in the area is putting stress on businesses to find the right employees. Spokesperson Annie Hill agreed, telling the Bay of Plenty Times: "We find this a very effective way of alleviating the skill shortage."

Job opportunities in a wide range of industries are being promoted for people with New Zealand visas. Healthcare (nurses, midwives, physiotherapists, and radiographers), manufacturing and engineering (fitters/turners, welders, machinists, cabinet makers, food technologists), construction (all qualified trades people, surveyors, architects) and professional services (accountants, lawyers, civil engineers, planners) are all in high demand.

On the east coast of New Zealand's North Island, the Bay of Plenty enjoys the most sunshine hours of any part of the country and miles of peaceful sandy beaches.

Opportunities New Zealand Expos have been held in London, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Glasgow.

New Zealand needs skilled workers: anyone interested in New Zealand immigration should complete the New Zealand Visa Bureau's online New Zealand visa assessment to see if they qualify for a New Zealand visa.
